Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Position Description

About the Opportunity

Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Health Coaching Trainer and Assessor to join their team for an opportunity in the Katherine West region in the NT. This position is well suited to someone who has a minimum Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and eligible for registration with the relevant Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and possess a current unrestricted practicing certificate. The position facilitates clinical placements for AHP’s, TAHP’s and Health Coaches (including trainees) and will provide on-the-job clinical development support.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Deliver high quality industry relevant training and assessment that complies with nationally endorsed training package/courses, guidelines, and industry standards.
• Develop and administer industry relevant resources and assessment activities and tasks that are mapped to training package/course and maintain a working knowledge of compliance and quality requirements for VET training.
• Maintain strong links with other staff, ensuring all activity is complementary and utilises the existing knowledge, expertise, resources, and industry/business links within our organisation.
• Maintain compliant student files. Adherence with organisational requirements for the completion of records, including attendance and results records, within specified timelines.
• Support student training plans with the relevant documents and records to maintain compliance, e.g. evidence of participation and/or assessment evidence.
