Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Remote Area Nursing
Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Remote Area Nurse to join their team for an opportunity in the Katherine West region in the NT. Remote Area Nurses work as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in a remote health care centre and provides the highest standard of nursing care for clients through the provision of comprehensive primary health care services.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Provide quality primary health care to individuals, families, and the community
(including outstations as required) within own competency level, KWHB endorsed
protocols and the CARPA Manual in order to meet expected client needs. - Participate in the after-hours on-call roster to meet community emergency needs.
- Promote and support Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHP's) as the primary health
providers in community to facilitate the delivery of culturally appropriate health care - Support and participate in Quality Improvement activities within the Health Centre to
enhance the safety and effectiveness of care. - Maintain information systems required for the effective management of clients.
