Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Manager of Health Programs. This position will be well suited to someone who has experience in nursing, public health, clinical program management, health promotion, or related field.

Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Position Description

This position is central to ensuring that all health programs are not only clinically effective but also culturally appropriate and responsive to the unique needs of the communities served.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Program Development and Coordination: Lead the development, coordination, and continuous evaluation of clinical and health promotion programs, ensuring they are effective, culturally appropriate, and aligned with community health priorities.
  • Action Planning and Reporting: Develop and manage detailed action plans and reporting frameworks for health programs, ensuring alignment with KWHB’s strategic and operational objectives and satisfying funding requirements.
  • Team Supervision and Development: Supervise and support the Health Programs team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth, clear communication, and efficient use of resources.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Participate in and promote Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, ensuring that health programs are regularly evaluated, refined, and enhanced based on evidence and community feedback.
