Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) are currently recruiting an Information and Communications Coordinator to play a key role in leading communication and information management across KWHB. In this position, you will drive both internal and external communications, supporting the delivery of high-quality primary health care services across the Katherine West region. You will manage the organisation’s SharePoint intranet and document management systems, coordinate internal news and updates, and support staff to effectively use digital platforms for communication and information sharing. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of digital systems and processes, identifying opportunities to strengthen information management and organisational communication. In addition, you will coordinate content and scheduling for official social media channels, supporting the organisation’s community engagement and public presence. This role is suited to a proactive and tech-savvy professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in digital communication and information systems within a community-focused organisation.
Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

The Information and Communications Coordinator is required to be a skilled communications professional with highly developed written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, engaging and accurate content for diverse audiences. Suitable applicants need to bring demonstrated experience in communications and information management, including content creation, cross-platform integration, and maintaining effective data and document management systems. The suitable applicant needs to have strong project management capability, including the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. With advanced computer skills — particularly in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint — the applicant must be confident managing and improving digital systems. Detail-oriented and highly organised, you will take pride in editing, proofreading and maintaining quality standards. You can manage competing priorities, track deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team, while contributing to continuous improvement and supporting organisational adoption of web-based technologies.
