Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Payroll Coordinator. This position is well suited to someone who can actively contribute to providing high standard of payroll processing, accuracy & integrity. Has a keen interest in developing complex understanding of our EBA, relevant legislation and policies to provide guidance and support to staff across the organisation. Is passionate about fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture through professional conduct, collaboration and role modelling values that are aligned with KWHB values. Position Description

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, in accordance with the Organisation’s Enterprise Agreement, Awards, legislation and policies.
• With a complex understanding of the relevant agreement, legislation and policies, provide guidance, advice and support to managers, HR and employees on payroll-related matters, including wages, allowances, leave, superannuation, deductions and termination payments, while always maintaining confidentiality.
• Actively contribute to maintaining high standards of payroll data accuracy and integrity, including timely processing of new starters, variations, terminations, redundancies and back pay.
• Support the effective use of payroll systems and associated financial systems, including maintaining system integrity and assisting with implementation of system or process improvements.
• Provide administrative support to the finance team as required, as well as other KWHB work units as directed by the Senior Finance Manager and Executive Manager Corporate Services, to ensure effective delivery of services to KWHB clients.
