Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently recruiting a new role to their Corporate Service team, a Grants and Finance Officer. The Grants and Finance Officer plays a key role in supporting effective financial management and compliance across the organisation. The position is responsible for high-level administrative and financial support, including grant reporting, acquittals, budget monitoring, and accurate financial processing. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the role ensures compliance with funding agreements, organisational policies, and relevant legislation, while maintaining strong data integrity. The officer also supports managers to meet reporting deadlines across multiple funding streams and contributes to the continuous improvement of financial and compliance systems, helping to ensure the long-term sustainability and accountability of organisational programs and services.
Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

The Grants and Finance Officer is responsible for delivering high-level administrative and financial support to ensure the organisation meets its funding, compliance and reporting obligations. This includes maintaining and improving systems and processes, preparing and submitting grant reports and acquittals, monitoring budgets, and ensuring accurate financial processing across multiple funding agreements. The role also supports managers by coordinating reporting requirements, maintaining records, and ensuring all activities align with funding body requirements, organisational policies and relevant legislation. In addition, the position contributes to identifying funding opportunities, assisting with grant applications, and tracking funding milestones and outcomes. The officer processes and reconciles financial transactions, supports month-end reporting, and helps maintain data integrity across financial systems. Working with initiative and sound judgement, the role prioritises competing deadlines, maintains confidentiality, and escalates complex matters as required while contributing to continuous improvement and organisational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive remuneration $94,907-$99,848 (negotiable based on your skills and experience) plus 12% super annuation and 18% leave loading, as well as a range of benefits which include:
