We are seeking Health Operation Support Officers (HOSOs) to work within the Lajamanu Urgent Care Centre (LUCC), supporting an innovative model of afterhours service delivery in a remote setting. 

Summary of Position

Working closely with the Remote Area Nurse (RAN), the HOSO assists with non-clinical tasks, data management, and general operational duties. This role operates on a rotational roster of 7 x 10-hour night shifts (2200–0700) per fortnight. Flights from Darwin or Katherine and accommodation are provided while on rotation. Operating during the hours of 2200–0700, the successful applicant must be adaptable to remote living conditions and working night shifts, while demonstrating a strong commitment to cultural respect, sensitivity, and collaborative engagement with the local community.

Position Description

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Under the direction of the RAN LUC, provide operational and logistical support for after-hours services, including acting as a second responder for emergencies.
  • Assist with the prioritisation of clients to ensure timely and appropriate care based on their needs and urgency.
  • Deliver general administrative assistance, including data entry, maintaining records, and supporting the utilisation of health information systems.
  • Participate in the general upkeep and maintenance of the health centre, including cleaning and preparing non-clinical areas for daily operations.
  • Support the RAN in organising patient travel, including logistical arrangements and documentation.
  • Uphold compliance with organisational policies, workplace health and safety standards, and confidentiality protocols.

To be considered for these positions, you are required to minimally have the following experience:

  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity, particularly in working with Aboriginal communities.
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in administration duties.

Successful applicants will be employed under the JIRNTANGKU MIYRTA ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2024 - 2028 as Shift Workers, classified between AO1-AO2 dependent on skills and experience, receiving an attractive remuneration of $3,746 + 12% superannuation minimum, per swing.
