Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) provides primary health care and health-related programs to Aboriginal communities over a 162,000 km2 region in the remote Katherine West region. We are an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation with the key objective of improving health and wellbeing outcomes for all people in our region. The role
As our newly created Infrastructure Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting the Corporate Operations team through the day-to-day management and coordination of Katherine West Health Board's infrastructure portfolio, including staff accommodation, health centres, offices, depots, operational facilities, leased facilities and NT Government-owned infrastructure managed by KWHB.
You'll oversee infrastructure maintenance programs, contractor performance, capital works projects, property compliance and infrastructure planning to ensure KWHB facilities remain safe, functional, compliant and fit for purpose.
Working closely with government agencies, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, you'll coordinate routine maintenance, urgent repairs, refurbishments, upgrades and new infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
The Infrastructure Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of KWHB's infrastructure and facilities.
- Manage preventative and reactive maintenance programs across all sites.
- Conduct facility inspections and prioritise maintenance and repair works.
- Maintain asset registers, maintenance schedules, lease records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate infrastructure projects, refurbishments, upgrades and capital works.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, government agencies and key stakeholders.
- Oversee contractor performance to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.
- Support the Corporate Operations team with asset management, accommodation, travel and logistics.
- Monitor infrastructure budgets and prepare reports, forecasts and project updates.
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, legislative obligations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Our ideal candidate
You're an experienced and proactive infrastructure professional with a strong background in facilities, property or asset management. You have successfully managed maintenance programs, contractors and infrastructure projects, balancing competing priorities while delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget. You're a confident communicator who builds positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, government agencies and community stakeholders, and you enjoy finding practical solutions to complex challenges.
You're a collaborative leader who is committed to continuous improvement and supporting your team to achieve great outcomes. You value working respectfully with Aboriginal communities and are committed to supporting their self-determination. You're willing to travel to remote communities when required and hold, or can obtain, the necessary clearances, licences and vaccinations. Qualifications or experience in building, construction, facilities management, project management, engineering or a related field will be highly regarded.
